Mythic LIfe

Mythic Life, the 4th of our 5Rhythms ongoing group at Waves Studio, is this weekend.

I've been preparing for this weekend for many weeks as I dance through my Mythic Life, and design and prepare the installation. Since the 3rd session, Masquerade I've deliberately shed some of my identies, and have deliberately embraced others even more in an effort to live the Mythic Life.

Transcending the limitations of some of the beliefs around my many identies was critical of reaching a place of letting go of letting go. I'm simultaneously resisting and flying into Mythic Life.

Dove holding open
heart relieved of encrusted
pain, joy and sorrow.

Dressed with rosemary
feathers wafting springtime air
setting spirit free.

Thorned roses blooming
sweet fragrance, brilliant reds
embodied living.

Reflecting presence
into the expansive sky
possibilities.

True heart softening
held safely within fullness
embracing what is.

Open Heart

In Instinct and Intimacy, through ritual some of us committed to conciously embrace the open heart, the open heart which contains all, even our tough stuff.

In my walk the last few weeks, I've explored what does it mean to be open heart as it relates to my various relationships?

I know that an open heart is required for change, for transformation. I know that without the open heart, without the awareness of the open heart, that change cannot happen. That I cannot be carried through the difficulties, through receiving that which is divinely mine, accessible to me. It means I dance the dance of faith and trust. I dance letting go, and recieving. I dance listening, and acceptance.

An open heart seems to be a step in the right direction. The open heart expresses my deepest fears and longings, my deepest passions. It holds and contains that which pushes and pulls me. It holds my love and compassion, my drive and pursuit, my failings, and my accomplishments. It holds my curiosity, my disinterest. My push and expectation, my dissapointment. Ignorance and wisdom. My wild abandon, my holding back. It accepts, and allows space for being. Beyond my open heart, beyond goodness resides my soul.

With an open heart, I find a softening towards the ones I live with, and the ones I work with. My open heart lets me be more accepting of them, and lets me let go of my demands that push upon them. It lets me be vulnerable and real with others.

It's not so hard when I listen.

My what? My what?

My fucking vice grips loosen
Expression fullfills dreams
Releasing into fullness
through pain and sorrow
Gifts come pouring forth

My love, My love
Resides within.
