I returned yesterday from my trip to the Chicago area, where I was helping to care for my friend Peggy. Throughout the trip, which I made by train, I kept seeing Herons- almost every day I saw at least one. On the way back , I saw three Herons from the train within the first hour of the trip, and three Herons in the last hour before reaching Seattle. This picture is of a Heron I met in the woods near Peggy's house. I felt so blessed and reassured each time I saw one, and once warned, even, as I saw the Heron just as the blackest thundercloud approached, and I abandoned my woods walk and made it back to the car exactly as the rain began to pelt, and the lightning began to crack. Thank you Blessing Heron!
